Flip chart marker types

There are three types of markers, and their names are based on the surface they write upon. Each type has a certain level of permanence of the ink to the writing surface. Flip chart markers contain low-odor, water-based inks that don’t bleed through the thin flip chart paper. Users can write notes on one page and flip it over to a clean sheet for more notes. These markers are permanent on paper for notes that need to be retained. Use dry erase markers on whiteboards, glass, or melamine surfaces, and wipe away the ink with a cloth eraser. They are ideal for temporary notes, and you can reuse the surface multiple times. A wet erase marker has water-soluble inks that mark on laminated surfaces but adhere with a stronger bond for semi-permanence. They need a damp cloth to remove the ink. These work well on business signs to attract customers.

Flip chart marker tips

Bullet tips are slightly rounded with no flat edge. The design prevents squeaking on dry erase boards when writing. Chisel tips have a diagonal flat end. The long flat edge is used to write thick lines, while the point tip can draw narrow lines. Fine tip markers allow for precise lettering or writing on small surfaces.

Specialty flip chart markers

Certain Sharpie® chart markers work for flip charts and erase boards that are not compatible with traditional inks. These products allow for fun, artistic drawing and writing. Use them on business signs to attract customers or for art crafts.
