(34 Products)What Is a Packing Tape Dispenser?
Packaging tape dispensers are devices that hold rolls of tape with sharp edges at one end to shear and tear the tape. They make sealing shipping boxes a breeze. Shipping tape dispensers come in different designs based on the size of the tape they dispense.
Scotch tape dispensers that fit on desktops are the most common type of tape dispensers, but there are also tape dispenser guns that are compatible with large rolls of duct tape and packing tape. Tabletop tape dispensers usually come in packs and are disposable, while tape dispenser guns are reusable and allow users to simply swap out the roll of tape once it runs out.
What Can Shipping Tape Dispensers Be Used For?
Shipping tape dispensers are used to make material handling tasks easier and more efficient. Packaging tape dispensers are often used in warehouses and mailrooms to help improve productivity. Workers in factories also use tape dispensers because they eliminate the need for them to manually measure and cut each piece of tape. Packing tape dispensers allow workers to perform tasks more quickly and move more products out of the warehouse.
Shipping tape dispensers can also be used at home or in the office for simpler mailing tasks. Tape gun dispensers are portable enough to be stored in a utility closet or even on a desk. Some dispensers are made for smaller rolls of tape and are meant to be used exclusively on a desktop. These models are great for quickly sealing envelopes and small packages that need to be mailed out that day.
How Do You Load a Shipping Tape Dispenser?
To load your shipping dispenser, you should first push a roll of shipping tape onto the tape wheel. Make sure to do this on a flat surface. Next, you should pull a few inches of tape off and around the roll and make sure the sticky side is down. Finally, you'll place the tape between the roller and metal gate of the tape dispenser gun and pull the tape, the adhesive side facing down, underneath the roller. Once you're finished, cut off the excess tape, and your dispenser is ready to go!
This method works on many standard tape gun dispensers but can vary between different brands and models. Depending on what tape dispenser model you own, these instructions may differ slightly. Make sure to review the instructions that came with your package tape dispenser, if available.
