Cubicles & Panel Systems

Want to know more about Cubicles & Panel Systems

Types of office partitions

Office panel systems involve movable walls that separate desks and work areas. There are several types that affect function and work in different situations. Modular panels are the traditional fabric squares or rectangles that attach together using straight or angled connectors. Some of them have plexiglass windows that allow viewing outside the work area without having to leave the space. Folding panels are several panels already attached and can be folded up and tucked away when not in use. For an elegant look, choose decorative panels made of wood and with carvings for smaller work areas and to impress potential clients. For a quick set-up consider complete panel workstations that include a desk and partitions in one.

Office partition wall sizes

Panels and partitions range from 5 to 7 feet tall, and the choice depends on how much an employer wants to allow employees to see over them. Allow workers to talk with each other over the top of 5-foot panels or eliminate any chatter with 7-foot partitions. Individual panels are usually between 4 to 5 feet wide. This size allows for shaping and designing work spaces with plenty of room. Longer, folding office partitions can reach up to 10 feet long, with each separate section being 3 or 4 feet long.

Office panel system accessories

There are plenty of accessories that can be added to office privacy panels. They all add more function to the area. Some accessories include:

  • Coat hooks for hanging jackets close at hand
  • Wall files that hold folders, magazines, and papers to free up space on the desk
  • Hanging shelves for plants, photos, and decorative knickknacks
  • Separate workers even more with desktop privacy panels that fold around individual computers
  • Weighted feet that make enclosures sturdier and prevent tipping
  • End caps on corners to protect against bumps
