(6 Products)Computer stereo speakers offer multiple connection types
Home stereo speakers usually come in three types: those with a single speaker, two speakers, or a sound bar that has multiple speakers in one. All three options connect to devices in several ways. Wired connections use a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack or USB cable. Dock options hold a small device, such as a phone or tablet, and connect through the device’s pins, USB, or jack ports. Wireless computer stereo speakers connect in one of three ways. One way is with a transmitter that fits into the device’s USB port. The second way is through Wi-fi® and requires an internet connection. The last is through Bluetooth, which syncs with devices that have Bluetooth capability. If a device can’t use wireless/Bluetooth speakers, it’s possible to purchase a Bluetooth adapter that plugs directly into the device’s USB port.
Wired and wireless computer stereo speakers offer fun extras
Many computer speakers and docks do more than just play audio. Whether using wired or wireless stereo speakers, choose from a variety of fun extras such as:
- Lights that flash and change colors for parties
- Microphones that allow users to answer calls when paired with a phone
- Surround sound capabilities for room-filling audio
- Powerful batteries that charge phones or media players
- Weather resistant materials for outdoor stereo speakers
- Decorative designs that include cute shapes or animal drawings
Computer Speakers are portable
Many wireless and Bluetooth stereo speakers are portable. They also pair well with other computer accessories and peripherals. Some models only need regular batteries to run. Others use internal batteries that are rechargeable once hooked up to a computer or AC outlet. When not on the go, some include an AC plug that doesn’t use up battery power. Many portable options have built-in handles that make them easy to carry or are small enough to fit in a bag or pocket.
