Canon Pixma MG2920 ink and FINE technology
As with other inkjet printers, the printheads of Canon inkjet printers consist of microscopic nozzles that eject tiny droplets of ink onto the surface of paper. Canon Pixma ink cartridges are equipped with Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology that syncs the printhead with cartridge ink ejection to place the droplets as precisely as text or image files specify. This technology enables specific Canon printer ink cartridges to yield images with accurate monochrome and color gradations, tonality, saturation, and separation.
Canon Pixma ink cartridges fit several different printer systems
A variety of Canon Pixma printers are available for the home, office, dorm room, and professional shop. MG2920 ink cartridges fit various models in three different printer lines, including MX office all-in-ones with print, scan, and copy functionality, MG and TS photo-all-in ones with photo, print, scan, and copy functionality, and iP single-function printers. Each line includes several different models that use Canon’s MG2920 inkjet printer ink in black and tricolor cartridges:
- MG2420, 2520, 2924, and 3020
- TS202 and 3120
- iP2820
- MX492
In addition, other non-MG2520 ink cartridges are compatible with the MG3020 and TS202 and 3120. All Canon printers and all-in-ones operate at peak efficiency with genuine Canon ink cartridges and replacements.
The type of ink the cartridges contain
The two reservoirs of the MX, MG, TS, and iP models contain a hybrid ink system, consisting of all-pigment black ink cartridges and dye-based color ink cartridges. Together, the formulas support print resolutions of 600 x 600 dpi in black, and 4800 x 600 dpi in color, for up to photo-quality imaging. The ink works with a wide range of inkjet printer paper, from multi-purpose matte to photo-grade glossy. The black and tricolor inks come in both standard-yield and high-yield (XL) cartridges. The high-yield cartridges work in all select models except the MX492. Canon Pixma MG2920 ink cartridges work with a variety of software packages that enhance the imaging quality of photo printing.
